After a long morning of running errands, packing, car switching (thanks Brian!), & trying to locate Felicia, we left Concord around 3 o'clock & started off our Forks adventure!
We followed Felicia north up I-5 to her mom's house in Redding, CA. It was 100 degrees when we got here, so unfortunately it was too sunny for vampires to be out & about. Felicia says she saw one once, but if he wasn't sparkling I just don't think I buy it ;-) We started off the evening here by visiting the Sundial Bridge: http://www.turtlebay.org/sundialbridge. The architecture & design of it was just crazy cool. We walked across it & went to the other side of the bank to walk along the river where there are little nifty touristy signs. There was one with a giant picture of a spider. If you know me, definitely not my favorite creature. Upon reading this friendly touristy sign, we find out that the sundial bridge is a perfect habitat for the most unfriendly creatures, spiders. & not just any spiders, huge, nasty, Orb Weaver spiders. When we walked underneath the bridge, we looked up to find a friggin colony of these creepers. Literally the ENTIRE underside of this bridge was crawling with them. UGH! Did I mention that they were MASSIVE?!
Anyway, onto an adventure with not so many legs...
After the spider infestion bridge we drove to Simpson University where Felicia will be heading off to in the Fall. :-( We drove around the campus a little bit, so beautiful & nice. Definitely jealous of where Felicia gets to study!
After Simpson, we drove into the woods a bit to check out Felicia's mom's new property. They're re-doing a house they have out there & it's just beautiful. Nichole said it'd be worth it to live out there, even with all their gigantic arachnids. I do NOT agree.
So that's our day in a nutshell! Tomorrow we're getting up bright & early, grabbing some coffee, & heading north-er still to Seattle, WA! We'll update more tomorrow night! We miss you all already, & will bring home some vampire teeth for everyone! :-p
I hope you guys planned out your outfits so you could be matching everyday:)
