We woke up today to a very vampirey weather kind of day! It was cloudy, foggy, & a little misty! We decided to head up to the Hoh Rain Forest, Clallam Bay, & back down to La Push to go to Second Beach to see some tide pools!
We started out the day by grabbing some coffee at Mocha Motion, a cute little Espresso drive-thru in Forks, then headed up to the Hoh Rain Forest! It was such a gorgeous drive! It looks like you're in a fairytale. I was definitely expecting a sparkling vampire to jump out of a tree & dazzle us! ;-)
After we hiked around in the rain forest, we drove up to Clallam Bay to walk along the beach. It was so beautiful there. The water was crystal clear & so blue. I found a sea shell in the water, & Nichole was trying to get me to get in & go get it for her. When I didn't, she threw herself down & had a temper tantrum. Which was hysterical, so I took a nice video for you all! I'll have to upload it tomorrow though, the internet is so slow here!
Ha ha ha. We unfortunately didn't stay long, because not only was Nichole starting to throw fits, but it was windy & absolutely FREEZING!!
After we left Clallam Bay, we drove back down to La Push to go see the tide pools at Second Beach. It was a pretty long hike from the parking lot to the beach, but we made it! The tide pools were awesome! We saw tons of anemones & starfish.
All the hiking made us super hungry, so we went to a little restaurant right on the border of La Push called "The Treaty Line" for dinner. It was super cute, & the people there were really nice.
After dinner, we realized that we really didn't have anything left to see in Forks or La Push, so we decided that we would come home a day early. Ha ha. We also figured out that some of the places where filming for the Twilight movie was done is on the way home! So I re-figured our directions for the drive home so we could see some of the sites.
We'll be seeing Kalama High School in Kalama, Washington; which is the high school where they shot all the outside shots of Forks High School, & the parking lot where Edward saves Bella from Tyler's van, the View Point Inn in Corbett, Oregon where all the prom scenes were filmed, where all the Port Angeles scenes were filmed which is in the town of St. Helens, Oregon. We'll see the alleyway where Bella meets her attackers, the dress shop where they look for prom dresses, the book store Bella goes into, Bella & Charlie's house, the restaurant where Edward & Bella go on their first date, & last but not least, the Carver Cafe in Damascus, Oregon where they film Charlie & Bella having dinner.
We'd been seeing signs all over town saying the the Hillywood Show was going to be in Forks for a meet & greet. If you don't know what the Hillywood Show is, they do parodies of movies on YouTube. They do really good Twilight parodies. It's sort of like a music video & a parody combined I guess you could say. Here's some links to their videos of their Twilight & New Moon parodies:

So since we were in town, we headed to The Twilight Lounge to take some pictures with them & meet them! There's was nobody there (shocker) lol, so we didn't stay very long. But they make pretty convincing Twilight characters. & they were super nice. Unfortunately for Nichole, they didn't bring their Jacob. :-(
